In the Culture and Emotion Lab, we study emotions in their social and cultural context using a multi-method approach. We are especially interested in how people from different cultures experience having a positive or negative image in the eyes of others. Thus, we study a wide range of emotions about being respected and disrespected, from pride, happiness, and satisfaction to anger, shame, fear of envy, and humiliation.
